| Yoga is 'reunion'. Union of soul with the Cosmos or with the
Creator. But how this can materialise? This goal cannot be achieved
in a single stroke. Yog is a step by step approach for holistic
living that leads us towards God realisation.
It would be a folly to consider yog as a form of exercise. The exercise or the 'asan' part can safely be termed as the tip if the iceberg. Yog is proper balance within our frame, proper balance of mind and body and above all a positive and cheerful attitude towards life.
The paramount think to remember is that the validity of yog lies in its practice. No amount of book reading and theorizing will bring any results and will merely amount to 'philosophical entertainment' as Swami Vevekanand has put it.
