"This web site has been created to spread the message of yoga to all the members of our society."

"The mission at Vishav Yog Sansthan is how more and more people can be attracted towards yog so that such a society is created where people are physically and mentally fit.

We had a very modest beginning by starting from Ludhiana in 1997. Today we have over 40 yog centres spread around the globe. Every morning people come in the classes and learn the yogic way of living. Those who have a penchant for selfless service are encouraged to become teachers of yog so that we are able to spread this art to other territories.

Ours is a truly a non profit organisation. We don't charge any fee for the training. We are receptive to new ideas. In our programmes we try to associate Medicos, Ayurveda practitioners, Naturopaths and above all Yogi Mahatmas so that the learner gets a deep insight. "

Yoga is 'reunion'. Union of soul with the Cosmos or with the Creator. But how this can materialise? This goal cannot be achieved in a single stroke. Yog is a step by step approach for holistic living that leads us towards God realisation.

It would be a folly to consider yog as a form of exercise. The exercise or the 'asan' part can safely be termed as the tip if the iceberg. Yog is proper balance within our frame, proper balance of mind and body and above all a positive and cheerful attitude towards life.

The paramount think to remember is that the validity of yog lies in its practice. No amount of book reading and theorizing will bring any results and will merely amount to 'philosophical entertainment' as Swami Vevekanand has put it.
